The Green River Bullsh!t Refund runs November 6–20, giving eligible fans a chance to recoup $20 from tickets, parking, food, merchandise and other live-event expenses.
Going to a game has gotten expensive. Between tickets, parking, concessions and merchandise, a day cheering on your favorite team can put a serious dent in your wallet. Now, Green River is offering a little payback.
The Kentucky bourbon brand has launched the Green River Bullsh!t Refund, a limited-time promotion running November 6–20, 2026, that gives eligible fans the opportunity to receive $20 back on qualifying live-event expenses.
And here’s the part that makes this worth paying attention to: You don’t have to purchase Green River bourbon to participate.

How the Green River Bullsh!t Refund Works
The promotion is designed to help offset some of the costs associated with attending live events, including sporting events and concerts.
Fans can submit receipts showing at least $20 in eligible purchases through greenriverwhiskey.com/bsrefund. Qualifying expenses include:
- Event tickets
- Parking
- Food and concessions
- Merchandise
- Other eligible live-event expenses
Once a submission is reviewed and approved, participants receive their $20 refund through Venmo.
The process also includes Green River’s playful Bullsh!t Detector, which gives participants an entertaining look at just how much their game-day experience cost.
There are a few catches worth knowing. The offer is limited to one refund per person, while funds remain. Alcohol and other excluded purchases do not count toward the minimum qualifying expense. Eligibility requirements, exclusions and full program terms apply.

The Cost of Being a Sports Fan Keeps Climbing
Green River’s promotion arrives against a backdrop of increasingly expensive live entertainment.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, admission prices for sporting events increased 123% between 2000 and 2025. By comparison, overall consumer prices increased 87% during that same period.
And those figures only account for admission. Parking, concessions and merchandise can add considerably more to the cost of attending a game.
For fans who have watched the price of a stadium hot dog or parking spot climb over the years, the frustration is familiar.
Green River is leaning into that frustration with a campaign that takes its straightforward brand positioning—Bourbon Without the Bullsh!t—and applies it to something beyond the bottle.

A Little Payback Beyond Football
The Bullsh!t Refund follows Green River’s recent tailgate song and music video, extending the brand’s game-day messaging into an actual consumer promotion.
While football season helped inspire the campaign, the offer isn’t limited to football. Eligible expenses from other live events can qualify as well, giving concertgoers and other event attendees an opportunity to participate.
According to Green River brand spokesperson Chuck Change, the promotion is just the beginning of what the brand has planned for the remainder of tailgate season.
There’s also a little behind-the-scenes humor in the campaign: Chuck Change is actually Jim Lake, Green River’s VP of Marketing.

Bourbon Bishop Bottom Line:
Promotional campaigns are a dime a dozen, but one that potentially puts $20 back in a consumer’s pocket without requiring a purchase is worth passing along.
Green River has found a way to take a familiar brand message and turn it into something that extends beyond whiskey drinkers. Whether you’re heading to a football game, catching a concert or spending a little too much on a live event, check your receipts before November 20.
You might have $20 coming back to you.
About Green River
Founded in 1885 in Owensboro, Kentucky, Green River Distilling Co. holds the distinction of being the 10th oldest licensed distillery in Kentucky (DSP-KY-10). Originally established by J.W. McCulloch, the brand quickly built a reputation for quality, eventually becoming one of the most widely advertised whiskeys in the world during the early 1900s.
Throughout its history, Green River earned international awards, served as the official whiskey of the U.S. Marine Hospital for nearly two decades, and became famous for its once controversial slogan, “The Whiskey Without A Headache,” later evolving into “The Whiskey Without Regrets.” At its peak, the whiskey was so highly regarded that barrels were famously traded for ownership stakes in a Colorado gold mine.
A devastating fire in 1918 destroyed more than 40,000 barrels and much of the distillery itself, and the brand would eventually disappear from shelves for decades following ownership changes and industry struggles. After years sitting dormant, the historic site underwent restoration beginning in 2014, preserving much of the original distillery grounds while bringing whiskey production back home to Owensboro.
Today, Green River sources local grains while distilling, aging, and bottling whiskey onsite in western Kentucky. With rapidly expanding distribution and a growing lineup that includes bourbon, wheated bourbon, rye, and single barrel expressions, the revived distillery has firmly reestablished itself as one of the more respected value-driven producers on the modern Kentucky whiskey landscape.
